REV. CANON GABRIEL KPAGBAN
OHAJI/EGBEMA KNIGHTS IN REDDICATION SERVICE
THE Clergy and Wives of the Diocese of Udi (Ecclesiastical Province of Enugu, Anglican Communion) held a retreat at the Ibru International Ecumenical Centre, Agbarha-Otor, Delta State on February 7-11, 2012. The event was themed: ‘I must work while it is day’ (John 9:4).
In a sermon during a Holy Communion service at the St. Peter’s Chapel of the Centre, the Rector Ven. Ernest Onuoha, called on participants to imbibe a culture of hard work in their places of assignment.
The retreat featured lectures, talks on ministerial ethics, Bible study, praise, worship, prayer, and a question and answer session. The participants expressed satisfaction at the Centre’s suitability, promising to return for subsequent programmes.
The Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Augustine Chijoke Aneke, also commended staff of the Centre for their hospitality, while commiserating with the family of the Centre’s founder, late Dr. Alexander Uruemu Ibru.
The Centre also hosted Knights and Dames of the Diocese of Ohaji/Egbema on February 3-5, 2012. The retreat was led by the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev Chidi Oparaojaku, and his wife. The aim of the retreat was to spiritually equip the knights to appreciate their roles in the spiritual and physical development of the diocese.
